The Group of the European Youth for Change (GEYC) is a Romanian youth organization, founded in 2010, with a strong presence at the European level. As the coordinator of the PRISMA European Network, GEYC is committed to enhancing the quality of youth projects across Europe. Since 2023, the organization holds Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council. GEYC’s mission is to empower young people to drive positive change within their communities. The organization operates on the principle of peer-to-peer education, supporting youth leaders who engage other young people through both direct interaction and mass communication. GEYC’s initiatives focus on promoting civic participation, human rights education, and youth empowerment through various activities.

GEYC’s objectives include encouraging youth involvement in civic life, advancing human rights through education, and fostering intercultural understanding. The organization also works to promote digital literacy and empower youth workers through access to online tools and resources. Moreover, GEYC encourages youth entrepreneurship, especially in the social, green, and digital sectors, while aligning its activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including promoting social inclusion, gender equality, and environmental conservation.

GEYC targets young people aged 14 to 35, youth workers, and teachers. The organization is structured around four key portfolios: Democracy and Human Rights, Digital, Sustainability, and Entrepreneurship & Employability. In the Democracy and Human Rights portfolio, GEYC fosters youth participation, human rights education, and peacebuilding, while addressing youth radicalization and promoting intercultural learning. In the Digital field, GEYC focuses on enhancing digital empowerment, offering online tools and resources to increase digital literacy among youth and youth workers. Past projects have included initiatives on digital youth work, combating online hate speech, and promoting women’s empowerment in ICT. The Sustainability portfolio aligns with GEYC’s commitment to the SDGs, particularly climate justice, social inclusion, and health and wellbeing. The Entrepreneurship & Employability portfolio equips young people with the skills needed to develop projects, manage risks, and access funding. GEYC emphasizes innovative forms of entrepreneurship, such as green, social, and digital entrepreneurship, while promoting youth creativity and employability through social media and design thinking methodologies.

GEYC’s work is centered on empowering youth to become active, informed, and engaged citizens who can shape a more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative future.
